About Craniosacral Therapy

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a hands on therapy that enhances the body's natural healing process. This gentle therapy, which was developed by John E. Upledger D.O., can relieve pain and dysfunction and facilitate greater health. The craniosacral system is made up of fluid and membranes that line and protect the brain and cover the spinal cord. Illness, disease, structural changes in the body, or stress can result in tightness in the soft tissue of the body. As a result, the tightness or restrictions can affect the craniosacral system. The light touch of CST releases the restrictions in the soft tissues and enhances the performance of the craniosacral system.

CST can be effective for all ages, newborn to elders.

What is a craniosacral therapy session like?

A craniosacral therapy session takes place in a quiet private room and can last up to an hour or longer. You remain clothed as you relax on a padded table. Light touch is used to release tightness or restrictions in the body's soft tissue.
